A very fine early 19th Century richly patinated marquetry and line inlaid burr walnut and mahogany flip top occasional or lamp table, finely hand carved, of exceptional quality and small proportions. The well figured moulded, hinged top of oval form is fitted with a tilting mechanism that allows its top to be positioned in upright orientation and is adorned to the central reserve with an exquisite marquetry inlaid panel with a bouquet of flowers, foliate and scroll motif detail framed within a fabulous border of richly trailing foliate and flowerheads. Raised over a beautifully carved pierced cluster column support above trefoil base with finial detail, terminating on elegantly tapering, moulded and panelled cabriole leg.
