A very rare and fine 19th Century overmantel or leaner mirror of large proportions. The original bevelled mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a moulded and fluted giltwood frame with stunningly detailed foliate, flowerhead and leaf motifs throughout. Surmounted with an elaborate, pierced cartouche composition comprising of beautiful Neoclassical motif details of a quiver of arrows, a flaming torch, a sheaf of wheat, ruffles, flowerheads, c and s scrolls, flanked with trailing foliate motif detail, all elaborately hand carved in high relief.
