A very rare early 19th Century William IV well figured mahogany open bookcase of grand proportions, finely hand carved with stunningly rich patination and fine grain. The moulded and stepped cavetto pediment is raised over an elegantly simple frieze above open book shelves with an arrangement of four long shelves flanked with a fabulous pair of stylised Corinthian columns featuring beautifully carved acanthus leaf, scroll and foliate motifs with fluted detail, supported on moulded platform plinth base.
